Events Manager

Salary: up to £27,000 + overtime + performance related bonus*
Location: Near Bathgate (listed Georgian country house)

At Fitwise we specialise in delivering healthcare events and have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events Manager to join our team based at our offices near Bathgate, West Lothian.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a range of conferences and exhibitions.  The role includes developing client proposals, financial forecasting and managing all aspects of the event planning and delivery.

This role will require some travel throughout the UK and potentially further afield.

 Candidates must meet the following criteria;

  • A minimum of 4 years experience of planning and delivering events
  • A successful track record of delivering conferences and exhibitions from proposal stage through to onsite management and financial reconciliation.
  • Significant experience of event management IT systems and be proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience of venue sourcing, negotiation and budget management.
  • Excellent communication, attention to detail and customer service skills.
  • Experience of working autonomously on assigned events.
  • A strong team player who can fit in to a diverse, busy department and take ownership of events.

 *Overtime will be paid for hours outside contract at basic salary rate.  Bonus is not guaranteed and is dependent on the overall performance of the company.

Bookkeeper

£18,000 + company pension

Fitwise Management has a vacancy for a bookkeeper to join their expanding admin team.  The successful candidate will report to the Head of Administration and will be responsible for keeping the books for a number of Fitwise’s healthcare clients.  The role involves keeping all relevant financial records and information up-to-date, checking data entry, answering queries regarding the accounts, producing and checking VAT returns, invoicing and other bookkeeping tasks.

Ideally you will have had experience of keeping multi company books, have a good knowledge of VAT and be very competent with Sage Line 50.  The position will be based in the Fitwise office in a recently restored Georgian country house in West Lothian, working full-time Monday to Friday.  Fitwise is an ISO 9001 and IIP registered company.

We all kicked off the new year by starting a Walking Club which meets every Friday lunchtime and involves a walk around our beautiful office grounds. Staff get to enjoy a slightly longer lunch break which enables them to put on their walking boots and get some much needed fresh air as well as an opportunity to catch up with colleagues and to be more active!

We are hosting a Pub Quiz event on Thursday 20th April 2017 at The Crown Inn, East Main Street, Blackburn, EH47 7QT. If you would like to join us, please get in touch with Elaine.Mckeown@fitwise.co.uk or you can buy tickets directly from The Crown Inn. Tickets cost £5 each with a maximum of 6 on each team. Raffle tickets will also be available on the day. There will be 2 raffles taking place during the pub quiz, not just any raffles: a snatch raffle where you can win more than 1 prize and a stand up bingo! Just £2 per ticket gives you not one, but 2 chances to win a selection of vouchers and prizes!

Employee Ownership day is the 30th June and we will be celebrating together in the office with lunch which will be complimentary of Fitwise.

Our annual team development day will be held this summer and it gives staff the opportunity to come together and have some fun! We provide an educational session in the morning followed by some team building games.
