Frequently Asked Questions in Sales

As Association Management Professionals and Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), at Fitwise there are always lots of questions. Whether its questions from exhibitors or questions from clients, we are ready and on hand to help with any queries you might have.

To help you with some of the frequently asked questions we receive, we have gathered everyone from our event gurus to our master marketeers to answer them for you, right here in our blog!

First up! We have some frequently asked questions from our sales team:

1. How will a ‘Virtual’ event work for me as an exhibitor/sponsor?

A question frequently asked in the days of Covid and lockdown when we were all getting used to having to transfer from a physical event to a virtual at short notice (remember those days!).  Now virtual meetings are much more the ‘norm’ and thankfully we are all a lot more ‘virtual savvy’. Yes, you may miss the face-to-face interaction, however, you should view virtual events as a great PR tool to highlight your branding and products. Focus on what is relevant to the programme and what would be of particular interest to delegates. Be ‘creative’, include photos and pdfs and think about your editorial. Arrange a virtual meeting room where delegates can come and chat. And of course, think of all the savings on cost of travel and accommodation.

2. What is difference between a shell scheme and space only stand?

Space only stands are great for those companies who wish to do a large bespoke build, and therefore we would only recommend this for stands of 15m² or larger. Shell scheme is great for those who may not have such a large budget, as many extras are included such as electrical sockets and spotlights.

3. Can I, as an exhibitor/sponsor, have a speaking slot in the programme?

Speaking slots are always popular and, for the majority of events, can be offered as part of a Platinum Sponsorship package. Take time to read your Exhibitor Prospectus for sponsorship opportunities on offer, and by all means discuss what you feel would be important to you. We will always do our best to accommodate.

4. Can we receive a delegate list for the event?

Absolutely. And we know what a key benefit this is to you as an exhibitor or sponsor! To ensure GDPR compliance and advice from the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) with regards to the level of delegate contact information we can give to you, we have included the following wording in the delegate registration Terms & Conditions: “Your data will be shared with the exhibiting companies at [Event].  Only name, job title, organisation, location and email address will be given.  If the exhibitors would like to use any of this personal data for direct marketing purposes, they will contact you separately to obtain your unambiguous and positive consent)”

5. How can I ensure delegates visit my stand?

It is the challenge most companies face at events. Think about how you can stand out from the crowd… be proactive by ensuring good eye contact and perhaps standing in front of your stand to welcome passing delegates rather than sit in a chair in front of your laptop or phone. Think about what you can offer delegates – they love a freebie! Think ‘outside the box’ – how can your stand graphics distinguish you from your competitors? Make it imaginative, informative, fun and interactive!
