John Matthews

Co-founder of Fitwise in 1992, John has over 30 years’ experience operating within strategic marketing roles within the health sector. During this time John has held roles within Ethicon, Johnson & Johnson Medical and he was chief executive officer for the Association for Perioperative Practice; with responsibility for a staff of over 20 members, and the management of their annual conference & exhibition.

Blair King
Project Lead
Co-founder of Fitwise Management Ltd in 1995, with over 42 years experience operating within the medical device and pharmaceutical sector, Blair has held a number of senior management roles in blue chip companies including national salesmanagement, distributor management and NHS contract negotiation as well as business development into the clean room market. In 1993 Blair set up an independent consultancy business offering business training courses tailored to company/organisational needs as well as standard sales training packages. Since 1995 Blair has been involved in working with nursing/medical associations on the operational aspects of running an association including the business planning process, financial planning and the transition process of helping nursing organisations convert from unincorporated association status to become limited charitable companies.

Joined Fitwise in 2003, Lynn assumes responsibility for the book-keeping for our association clients. In addition she takes responsibility for all standard operating procedures (SOP) and areas of compliance, in operating with our clients.
Katie Laing

Joined Fitwise in 2008, Katie manages our membership queries for all our association clients, with the exception of IPS. Katie deals with all membership subscriptions and renewals, and is also the point of call for association publication sales.

Paul Harrison

Joined Fitwise in 2008, with over 15 years experience operating within senior sales & marketing roles, predominantly within the technology sector. Paul has a thorough understanding of conferences & exhibitions, having commissioned a number of events in his role as Product Manager for a leading electronics distributor based in Montreal, Canada.
Paul has contributed greatly to the development of additional revenue streams for our clients, by introducing new concepts to their approach to market. Paul is also closely involved in new business development, and is always keen to open discussions with prospective healthcare clients.

Derrick joined Fitwise in 2011, bringing
over 20 years of UK and International
event management experience to the
team. His London based career expertise,
predominately within the healthcare and
pharmaceutical sectors, ensures his
thorough understanding of the industry, conference and event requirements as well as the commercial expectations of Fitwise's client base.
Supported by Stacy, Jenny and Derek, he assumes full responsibility for our conference, exhibition and events portfolio.
Derek JardineEvents Executive Following a four year honours degree at Napier University, Derek joined Fitwise in 2010. As a member of our growing events team, Derek specialises in one day conferences and events. This role sees him travelling UK wide managing these commitments whilst augmenting the company's list of approved venues and suppliers.

Joined Fitwise in 2005, Lynne assumes responsibility for the Infection Prevention Society Board, and their day to day requirements. This involves organising meetings, travel arrangements, general admin and responding to correspondence on behalf of the IPS Board. Lynne also assumes responsibility for the Fitwise Board of Directors, and their day to day requirements. Joined Fitwise in 2010, Shona assumes responsibility for the Infection Prevention Society, and all its day to day requirements. This involves membership queries, meetings management, IPS events diary & the administration of the Ethicon trust fund.
Katie HillMarketing Manager Katie joined Fitwise in 2010, and has experience operating within marketing roles. Katie is involved with the development and implementation of marketing plans for Fitwise and its clients.
Laura McCannSales and Marketing Assistant Joined Fitwise in 2011, Laura assists Paul and Katie with the implementation of marketing plans for Fitwise and its clients as well as providing sales support.

Stacy MartinEvents Manager Stacy joined Fitwise in 2002, working within our association and healthcare conference management department. With over ten years experience Stacy is an integral part of our team and manages some of our larger conferences, events and exhibitions. Each event is crafted to meet our clients’ vision, and deliver both educational excellence and at the same time meeting strict financial objectives.

Jenny ElliotEvents Manager Prior to her appointment to Fitwise in 2009, Jenny gained over five years experience within the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors following an honours degree in Hospitality Management. As one of our dedicated event managers, Jenny’s knowledge of the healthcare industry, along with her creativity and attention to detail, ensures the operational and financial success of our events.
